Dear [Manager],
[I recently became a member] or [I would like to become a member] of The Society of Working Moms, an online community that offers support and professional development to women through networking, online events, workshops, and certified coaching.
Programming takes place over Zoom, typically around the lunch hour. At $250 a year, this is the fraction of the cost of [conference you’ve been wanting to check out] and I’d reap the benefits year round.
I’d like to talk to you about using any professional development budget to cover the cost of this. I’m happy to schedule a meeting to go over the group’s program offerings, and answer any questions you may have.
As well as the general sense of support and wellbeing that will come from being a part of this diverse network of fellow working moms, I expect to be able to [name 1-2 skills that you’re trying to flex… maybe even something that’s come up at a recent performance review]. And, of course, I am committed to applying any skills I learn through this group for the benefit our team and company.
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
[Your name]

Dear [Manager],
I'm reaching out on behalf of The Society of Working Moms, an online community that offers support and professional development to mothers in the workforce through networking, online events, workshops, and certified coaching.
Your employee, [insert name], is a valuable member of our community (which I'm sure will come as no surprise, given she is no doubt a valuable member of YOUR organization as well!)
I'd love to continue to support her by exploring ways to financially sponsor her membership in the group. At $250 a year, this is the fraction of the cost of most conferences and women reap the benefits year round.
As well as the general sense of support and wellbeing that will come from being a part of this diverse network of working moms, members have access to weekly programming, which ranges from networking events to coaching to skill-building workshops, all taking place over Zoom, typically around the lunch hour.
If you'd like to discuss the group further, here is a link to schedule time on my calendar. I'd love to chat and answer any questions you might have!
Thanks for your time, and I hope we can talk soon!
